Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am very fortunate to not only get a place in this year’s London Marathon in the main ballot, but also to be able to run it with my closest running buddy too! Although we have completed a number of half marathons, this will be the first marathon for us both and training is well underway.

In recognition of such a magnificent event, I want to take the opportunity to raise money for a special cause and have chosen to run for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF). My husband’s uncle, Paul, sadly passed away last year after a short battle with the disease, and we have since found out more about the work being done to try and improve the survival rate and aid earlier diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer has only a 3% survival rate and there has been no improvement in that rate in 40 years. This cause receives less than 2% of the UK’s national spend on cancer research, so fundraising like this is much needed.

You can find out more about the amazing work of PCRF here - http://https//www.pcrf.org.uk/
