Story

I met my wonderful friends Ken and Sandra Richardson when I served alongside Ken as Education Officer in the Royal Air Force in 1992 at RAF Finningley.  Ken was a fantastic senior officer; someone who took great delight in helping other people to develop.  On leaving the RAF Ken started to work for the British International Golf Greenkeepers Association where he continued to nurture and develop the talent of others.  I left the RAF as Ken and Sandra's sister-in-law!!

Sadly last year Ken was diagnosed with a brain tumour and having been operated on in Leeds General Infirmary he returned home.  He remained positive and spent as much time with his family as possible but in January he was admitted to St Michael's Hospice Harrogate and very sadly passed away on the 13th January 2018.

Ken always encouraged me (and many others) to exceed our expectations and the attempt at running the Edinburgh Marathon is just that for me - it is a distance I have never run AND I am not getting any younger!!!  This is to be followed up with the half marathon of the Great North Run in September.

I am running for BTRS in order to support the fight against Brain Tumours and I very much hope that you will support me in my efforts.

THANK YOU  xx
