We need your support to help us to run the charity in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Extra measures are being taken to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and to prevent it from reaching us as we do not want to shut our shelters.
As a result, we are using increased amounts of supplies, especially those such as hand sanitiser, soap, blue roll, disinfectant, water and not forgetting oil as our hot water and heating systems all run off oil.
This is on top of our usual bills which are rising year after year...
We are now seeing the highest ever number of animals arriving into us needing veterinary care. For some, this is medication to clear up an ear infection, for others it is a skin condition which requires a number of medications and even operations to repair ruptured ligaments. This is all on top of our routine procedures such as neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and our initial health check which each animal has on arrival. A total cost of around £180,000 a year!
