Story

We are doing the Great North Run to raise awareness of children's liver disease and raise money for the Children's Liver Disease Foundation.

Alison is doing the Great North Run as a personal challenge and because it is so important that CLDF have the funds to continue with their important work.

Millie is doing the Great North Run because CLDF provide such great support to children and young people affected by liver disease, and have worked hard to continue doing so over the course of the pandemic. She is also doing it for the doughnuts at the end of the run.

Every week 20 children in the UK are diagnosed with a life-threatening childhood liver disease.  We first came into contact with CLDF when Millie was diagnosed with Alagille syndrome as a baby and needed a life-saving liver transplant.

CLDF do fantastic work supporting families and children affected by liver disease, providing information to children and young people, families and professionals on childhood liver disease, and funding research into childhood liver disease. They are the only UK charity dedicated to childhood liver disease  They have been hugely affected by a fall in income because of COVID-19. Please make a small donation if you can so that CLDF can continue to help families now and in the future.
