Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 25th October 2008 I took part in the Beachy Head Marathon (26 miles of gruesome hills)! Me and a friend completed the course power walking in 7 hrs which we were thrilled about. The weather was perfect and we were so lucky because the next day it was pouring all day! Despite feeling euphoric afterwards pain set in 24 hrs later and I suffered for 3 days despite 2 months of hard training! Still, no pain, no gain! I did this to raise money for the Polycystic Kidney Disease charity. My Cousin Kate (who was also my great friend) died of the disease in February 2005 at the age of 40. Kate was unaware that she had the disease until her late 30's. Her mother, Mary, also died of the disease when Kate was just 13. Kate always thought it was due to a brain aneurysum but she later found out her mother also had PKD. To raise awareness of PKD is the least I can do with your help. I am so grateful for all the donations made so far, including approx £150 on my additional sponsor form. Its not too late to make a donation as it all helps and is going to such an importantant charity which I know helped Kate in so many ways.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: PKD Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
