Story
At 47 with my BMI pushing upwards into entirely new territory I decided this year that I needed a real challenge. So, on May 13 I will be attempting the ‘Fred Whitton’, a single day endurance cycling event held annually in the Lake District. The route includes 113 miles (180km) of cycling and around 12,500 ft of ascent (3,900m) as it summits all the major Lake District passes. http://www.fredwhittonchallenge.co.uk
The ‘Fred’ is widely regarding as one of the more punishing events of this type and my training is therefore in full swing. So much so that I am already taking on many of the physical attributes of Chris Froome, that is apart from being overweight and not a very good cyclist!
Choices are always good in life so I will be raising money for two separate charities, MacMillan Cancer Support & the Lancaster and District Homeless Action Group.
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
