Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation by running the London Marathon on 2nd October 22 (eek!) and I'd be so grateful for your support.

Six years ago I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation - a heart condition which causes an irregular heart rhythm and can lead to an increased risk of a stroke.  Thankfully, with the help of medication and a wee bit of luck and a sprinkle of fitness (including running...) I've managed to stay pretty fit and well.  And long may that continue!!

The British Heart Foundation is this year's London Marathon official charity of the year.  All of the charity runners will be raising money for regenerative medicine, a cutting-edge field of research that the power to unlock a cure for heart failure.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
