Story
I am running the 2026 Run Bournemouth Supersonic 10K in support of Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity.
Yes a 10K!
I only started running in February and had no previous sporting or active background. When I began, I wanted to challenge myself both mentally and physically, and running has certainly done that. Now, I want to push myself even further by taking on my first 10K while raising money for an incredible cause.
I have chosen to support Diverse Abilities because I have been fortunate enough to meet two amazing children who have had a huge impact on my life. One has Autism and the other has Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. Being part of their lives has opened my eyes to the challenges that children with additional needs and disabilities face every day, and how much more we can do to help create opportunities for them to live happy, positive and fulfilling lives.
There simply aren't enough places, services and opportunities available for children with additional needs, which is why the work that Diverse Abilities does is so important.
Diverse Abilities is the only charity in Dorset that supports children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities. While they cannot change a person's disability, they can help make life more fun, fulfilling and full of opportunities, giving people the future they truly deserve.
This is a fantastic charity, and I would be incredibly grateful if you could spare a few pounds to sponsor me. Your support will not only help raise vital funds for Diverse Abilities but will also give me that extra motivation to keep going throughout my training and on race day itself.
Thank you so much for your support. ❤️
