Aspire Channel Swim 2010 · 5 December 2010 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

As Italians at CICCS at the University of Nottingham (..yes Laura you are almost..) we decided to support the Aspire Channel Swim 2010 for people with spinal cord injuries.

http://www.aspire.org.uk/channelswim/default.html

The target is to swim the English Channel distance (22 miles) in 12 weeks. However, cosidering how we are doing we decided to double our target (...return journey, we don't want to be stuck in France...) to 44 miles and maybe do even more... It’s a great occasion to improve our friendship, to stay fit and help someone less lucky than us. You can follow our performance just checking this web page every week. Therefore our final target is AT LEAST 2832 lengths (44miles) and actually we are DEMOLISHING the target.
