Story

Most will know my story because you have all been so kind, but for those that don’t, due to an RTA I am now held together with nuts and bolts, I have a damaged pelvis, hip knee and foot. I was in hospital for 5 weeks 2 and half of which  in an induced coma, my stay should of been longer because I had punctured both lungs and every rib, and bones in my back but although the Coventry and Warwickshire hospital and staff were amazing Allan stuck in a bed was driving me bonkers, and when they mentioned 7 weeks in Leamington spar, thankfully our amazing TNT FedEx team mates needed inspiration (in my head anyway) so it was out of hospital for me.I’m now suffering from a number of issues but have learned to walk again but the big story was how the Wooden Spoon and of course my Amazing family helped me wake from my coma. Long story I know but  I was hit when I was training for last years London Marathon and I need to finish what was started back in 2017. #theimpossibledream.

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, funding life-changing projects across the UK and Ireland to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage. Research shows that 1 in 10 children in the UK and Ireland have a disability and there are 3.5 million children in the UK living in poverty. These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help. Our vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities.
