Hue Help works in central Vietnam to improve the health, education and future prospects of disadvantaged children. Working through local partners we support a children's shelter and each year we run a drowning prevention programme to reduce the devastatingly high rate of child drownings in Vietnam.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit!!

I am taking part in a volunteering programme where i will be going to Vietnam to help Hue Help them teach English in orphanages and blind societies. While out in Hue i will also be teaching the children to swim because this is very important due to the flooding and spend time with them playing games and giving them the attention that the orphanages doesn't have time to give them.

I am hoping to raise £2000 which will allow me to volunteer for 6 weeks over the summer with other members of Manchester University. From the money raised a proportion will be going directly to the charity. Hue Help isn't a very well know charity and this will help raise some much needed money inorder to help it carry on the good work. They help The Home of Affection Children's Home which is home currently to twenty children, who have either no parents, or parents that are too poor or sick to care for them. Furthermore, they offer a mobile clinic which provides free health to the poorest inhabitants and a Swimming for Saftey programme which provides the chance for many children to learn to swim.

I am taking part in a abseil on the 28th April in order to try and raise some money. I will also be carrying out a number of collections and anything else possible to reach the target!

Thanks Allannah :)
