My motivation for doing this ride is due to a close member of the family presently undergoing cancer treatment . It has given me more awareness of the magnificent work done by organizations such as The Christie in combating cancer.

I have not cycled seriously for over 22 years, and started during this lock-down in the last 3 months. We have formed a group of amateur riders and have been building up the miles with daily cycling. We then decided to venture on the Blackpool ride to raise funds for The Christie with me taking a prominent role. The ride is going to be a challenge to test myself physically and emotionally, but at the end of the day I am doing it for a wonderful cause such as The Christie.
