I don’t very often get the opportunity to raise funds for charity except when I donate to other friends endeavours, drop off bags of clothes & books to a charity shop or if I bake a terrible cake for a cake sale!

That said, before I turn 50, I have committed to the the rather arduous, yet exciting challenge of climbing 3 mountains, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdonia in 3 days (thankfully with a guide as my map reading skills are shocking)! I absolutely cannot wait to undertake this challenge.

I’m raising funds for Age Concern in Banstead which covers much of the Surrey region. It’s personal to me  as I know first hand the amazing work that the volunteers and staff do to help the elderly & vulnerable.  Through the whole of the pandemic, they rang their members once a week, just to say “hello”, as there are some elderly people who don’t have any relatives, children to check up on them, their friends have passed on, so sometimes they can go weeks without speaking to or seeing anyone. At Age Concern they care and through their wonderful work, they provide amazing support  for those in need. Please go to the Age Concern website if you want any further information or if you feel you could volunteer, even to be a buddy and speak to someone once a week/month.
