The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

In late September, I will be attempting, along with 5 colleagues to cycle over 900 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats. Having done this a number of years ago when I was younger, fitter and lighter, on completion I said never again! The onset of senility must therefore be well advanced....

After agreeing to do this and in a moment of clarity I at least had the good sense to realise that if I'm going to drag my 17st 930 miles in 9 days I may as well raise some money doing it (the ride itself is being funded by the participants personally).

The Prince's Trust has for many years helped many young people get into jobs through education and training. However with the younger generation expected to feel the brunt  of unemployment as a result of our crisis it is now more than ever that they need support and hence my wish to raise money for a charity devoted to this cause.

If you're in a position to donate then please give whatever you can afford, it will greatly help young people across the UK - it may even help soothe the suffering I'm going to have to endure in raising it!
