This year at Alpha Heating Innovation, we are launching a new charity partnership with Centrepoint, the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people.

We have chosen Centrepoint as our company charity of the year as we wish to help the organisation in its quest to provide young people in need with safe accommodation, health support and life skills – to get their future’s back on track. Never before has the work being done by the charity been so important, with young people the demographic most likely to lose their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and calls to the charity’s Helpline skyrocketing.

One of our goals at Alpha Heating Innovation is to bring warmth to those who need it, so the work that Centrepoint does to find comfort, safety and shelter for young people in need strikes a particular chord with us.

Centrepoint also does a great deal to help young people pursue an education, find a job and kick off a career; in its own words, ‘a job is almost as important as a home’. Professional development and career support is also one of our core values here at Alpha and something we strive to deliver for our employees. Building on the work Centrepoint already does to fund work experience placements and run skills workshops, we are hoping to work with the charity to develop a package of careers advice. This can then be used by Centrepoint going forward to help those interested enter into a career in heating and plumbing.

Not only that, but we will be giving one of Centrepoint’s budding artists the chance to design some Alpha merchandise – and kick start their design portfolio - as part of one of the fundraising initiatives we have planned for this year.

By the end of 2021, we are hoping to have raised at least £10,000 to help Centrepoint continue to change the lives of young people in need throughout the UK. To do so, we will be joining forces with the charity on a number of exciting projects and fundraising campaigns across the year.
