Story

Hi !
I am cycling the Lap of the Lough 2011 (http://www.lapthelough.org) on the 28th of August for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation http://www.jdrf.org.uk)

This is to help raise money to find a cure for kids and adults with Type 1 diabetes (Insulin Dependant.) Which has a daily cycle of a minimum of 4x injections to control blood sugar levels and up to 8 - 10 finger pierce tests. There is still very little known as to why some kids develop this condition and some do not. Only that it is triggered by the bodies immune system, contrary to Type 2 which is related to poor diet, lack of exercise and hereditary factors.

My 10 year old son, Jenson was diagnosed with this condition on the 1st June 2010 and is one of the main reasons I am participating in the Lap of the Lough 2011. I would really appreciate any financial donation you feel you are able to give no matter how small.
Thanks, Alvin
