Newfoundland Splash 2019 · 22 June 2019 ·

Founded in 1887, Bristol Animal Rescue Centre helps hundreds of animals every year. From rescue and recovery to rehoming and community vet support, we’re here to give Bristol’s pets the care, safety, and second chances they deserve.

Story

Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is Bristol's oldest and largest animal centre - supporting animals in need and local pet owners with some amazing services right here in the City!

After seeing their work first-hand on a recent visit with some of the other Bears, I decided to raise funds by taking part in this brilliant 'doggy water rescue', where a gentle giant 14 stone Newfoundland dog will 'rescue' me from Portishead Marina, using their amazing strength to tow me back to shore.

Here's the info bit about what this amazing charity do - Bristol A.R.C. deliver essential care to animals (from dogs and cats, to rabbits, ferrets, birds and guinea pigs - and even snakes and chameleons!) including:
- Veterinary care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Rehoming and behavioural work
- Free pop up clinics offering treatments and advice for pet owners
- Outreach work supporting the homeless community's pets
- Welfare assistance support to families facing financial hardship and struggling to pay treatment costs for their pets.

Every penny donated will help make an impact. £6 for example could pay for an animal to be microchipped, and £25 could fund a day's care for an animal in their care - giving them a full tummy, a warm clean bed and routine vet care.

Join me in brightening a local animal's life and helping them on their journey to finding their forever family here in Bristol.
