Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those of you who don't know, I was meant to be running the London Marathon 2020, but due to Covid-19 this has been postponed until October 2021. All my donations so far are going towards my 2021 race and I have had an extra year to train, raise money and run this marathon!

I ran the Virtual London Marathon 2020 on October 4th 2020 and donations from that run will go towards this years target. Thanks to the virtual marathon 2020 I’ve had even more time to raise more money for the charity.

This is my story. Back in April 2019, I was glued to the TV watching the London Marathon 2019. I was in awe of these people running a marathon and thought, I could never do that. But the more I watched the more I wanted too.

I am not and never have really been a runner which is why when I mentioned this to my friends and family they were like really? But I'd set my mind on it.

I wanted to run the London Marathon 2020 (now 2021) for Diabetes UK to raise money for all those affected including my family as my grandma and my sister both suffer with Type 1 Diabetes and I have seen the consequences of this disease first hand. For anyone that knows Ella, she may moan a lot in general, but she has always just got on with her diabetes even though its one of the worst things to happen to her and I admire her for that and want to help her in any way I can.

The least I can do is raise money and run a marathon when they have to live with this disease everyday. Which is why I am going to give it my all and any/every donation, no matter how big or small will help immensely.

I am going to be vlogging my journey on my Youtube channel; lyshalomas so as well as donating if you'd like to show your support by subscribing and following me on this journey.

It's going to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but also the biggest achievement of my life when its finish. All I want to do is raise money to help fund diabetes to hopefully find a way to make anyone suffering with the disease live as much of a carefree life as they can.
