Story

Hey everyone!

I've decided to set myself a challenge, walking the equivalent of a marathon (26 miles) along the Thames to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cancer touches everyone in some form. I've lost two of my grandparents to cancer and have friends who have battled and survived it.

Having the right support when you're struggling or going through something is vital - and that's what Macmillan are so brilliant at.

Charities have also been hit super hard this year, so let's dig deep.

Why donations are important to Macmillan Cancer Support at this time: "Coronavirus has created a ticking timebomb of undiagnosed and untreated cancer in the UK, leaving many people living with cancer feeling desperately anxious and alone. Our Macmillan services are needed now more than ever but we are facing a huge drop in income as a result of the pandemic. We need your support. Every single pound you raise will help us close the gap and ensure people living with cancer get the vital support they need, right now. "

I'm looking forward to raising some important funds whilst giving myself a bit of a challenge!

I love walking/hiking and one day would love to do some multi-day hiking, so I'm seeing this as good preparation! The most I've walked in one go is around 13 miles which is half this distance...so some training is definitely needed.

I really appreciate anything you can give towards my efforts. I need to raise a minimum of £250 but if we can go and beyond that, that would be amazing!
