Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you know I love my job... I get to see babies born and help them survive to go home if they are sick or premature.  I work in the NHS and although we have a national crisis there is still FREE healthcare for all and as a country we still lead the way in global health.

Those in Liberia however, do not have such a luxury. Babies are dying everyday due to lack of human and physical resources, with only one doctor to 71429 patients.

MCAI want to help and have a fantastic programme which I will assist by teaching qualified nurses to extend their practice.  In October I will travel to Liberia as a volunteer and teach critical resuscitation skills and care of sick newborns.

I really need your help to make this happen. I am going as a volunteer while taking unpaid leave from my current job so need to raise funds for travel and expenses.  It really will be saving the lives of babies with a sustainable approach as these local nurses will have life-long skills. ANY money you donate will be grateful appreciated.
