I will be undertaking one of the top ten hikes in the world on 16 and 17 September - the rim to rim walk of the Grand Canyon.  This involves walking/descending 10 miles and 1400m into the Canyon from the South Rim on the Bright Angel Trail, staying overnight at the base of the Canyon then ascending 1800m over a distance of 14 miles on the North Kaibab Trail to the North Rim.  A challenge indeed!
