Story
We are all touched by age, whether it’s our family, our friends or ourselves. As we get older we come more and more into contact with people who have experienced the effects of dementia and aging first hand. They don’t always ask for help but the Alzheimer’s Society is always there to offer that help. Please support me in raising funds for this wonderful charity.
My Challenge : I celebrated my 70th birthday in December last year and I feel lucky to retain my health and fitness. I’ve always been a runner and the Blaydon Races have always been on my bucket list but this year I’ll be running it for the very first time and I’ll be joined by my granddaughter Scarlett. I’m not stopping there. My main fundraising effort this year will be the Royal Parks Half Marathon - my favourite run in London.
My Gift : in addition to my Justgivinng page Sunderland AFC’s great Foundation of Light charity are also raising funds on my behalf with a crowd funding appeal for an official Sunderland shirt signed by the 2011/12 season squad AND 3 of the greatest goalkeepers this country has ever seen - Jim Montgomery, Gordon Banks and Craig Gordon. All funds from this draw will be shared equally between Alzheimer’s Society and the Foundation of Light charity. I’ll be adding a link to this page soon. I would love your help as I raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. By supporting me you’ll be helping around 1 million people in the UK living with dementia and fund vital dementia research. Thank you so much for your support.
