At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

During 2022, my lovely Mum was diagnosed with early onset alzheimers at the age of 56. This news has been devastating for all the family and we are so heartbroken.

My mum is sunshine itself - happy, kind, caring and so loving. She has dedicated her life to loving others whether that be through teaching at Dothill, serving at church or making sacrifices for our family.

The journey thus far has been tough and tragic but God has carried us through.

I am dusting the cobwebs off my bike and cycling 160km (100 miles) in January for my Mum and for anyone else who has been affected by Alzeheimer’s. This is a BIG challenge for me and I’m feeling pretty apprehensive about it! Other members of my family are running 80km this month. We would appreciate any donations, prayers and encouragement!

Thank you.

“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.”
