Wey Ahead walk · 19 May 2018

We provide an education for desperately poor children in the villages of northern Ghana. Working with local partners, we build schools, train teachers and feed pupils. We aim to educate every child, no matter how poor, whatever their background. Our work transforms lives - and whole villages.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I decided to commemorate my 50th birthday in a very special way so on 19th May 2018 I will take part in the Wey Ahead 32km walk to raise money for The Savannah Education Trust.

The Savannah Education Trust (https://www.savannaheducationtrust.org/about/strategy/) provides food and basic education to Ghanaian children who live in abject  poverty.

The aim of the Trust is to improve the quality of life for some of the poorest children in Ghana by ensuring that in the villages where  they work, EVERY child aged 4 to 14 is given the opportunity to go to school and provided with a meal each day whilst at school.

Why this charity? It's  because in the words of the late Nelson Mandela "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

As a result of being educated, we can afford food and other luxuries in life.  Let's try and give these children a chance to change their world too!

Many of you may know that in the past several years I have developed a passion for Health and Fitness through walking. So this sponsored walk is the perfect way for me to challenge myself by walking 32km even as I raise money for this cause that I so believe in.

Any amount received  will help improve the quality of life for these children so please join me and together we can make a difference.

Much love and thank you

Ama
