At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My dad was diagnosed with Dementia over 15 years ago and he is still here with us thanks to so many people, so he has been incredibly lucky in many ways. I still remember going along with him to the diagnostic tests at the hospital, and although there were so many signs/symptoms that things weren't quite right it was still a shock when I heard his diagnosis.  I remember the first person I called was my mum who I just cried to for ages and as always she was my comfort blanket when I needed her. Since his diagnosis I have begun to realise how lucky he has been as I have sadly seen and heard how the disease has affected my friend's family members over the years and the devastation it creates for the loved ones caring for them.

Therefore I  would love to raise as much money as possible (target £300) for the Alzheimers Society not just for my dad, but for many others including families that are living or have lived with this destructive disease. Any donations at all would be very much appreciated!

Thank you lovely people in advance!
