Story
Last year a really great friend of mine ended his life after a long, hard struggle with severe mental illness. We all miss him a great deal, and the loss is all the sadder for the knowledge that he didn't get the help he needed.
Mental health provision is often woefully inadequate and those who suffer from mental illness often do so without help, and in silence. Mind is a charity which helps to break that taboo and provide meaningful assistance and advice for both the sufferer and their carers. They were incredibly helpful and reassuring for me when I didn't know what to do to help my friend. They were the only service I found to offer that level of advice and care.
Last year I cycled around Cambridge dressed as princess Leia to raise money for this incredible charity. This year I am raising funds and awareness with a charity meal - eight lucky guests get to be wined and dined, and then donate to the charity what they think the meal was worth.
This will be the main place for guests to make donations, but if anyone who cannot attend or would prefer just to make a one off donation, you can also do so here.
