On October 28th (Dad's birthday) to October 30th, we will be walking 70 miles to celebrate each year that Dad lived. We are raising money for FNH@Home, an amazing team who ensure that people can remain at home, should they wish, rather than being moved to a hospital or hospice.  This team allowed us to fulfil the promise we made to dad to keep him at home for his final days and weeks. They were true angels to us.

The FNH@Home team comprises of 6 specialist nurses supported by 6 Healthcare Assistants who visit the patient at home at least once a day, delivering the same specialist End of Life care as they would have received in-house. Our nurses are available to care for patients and their families up to 12 weeks before the end of life.

Hospital grade equipment is sourced, personal care attended to, and pain relief managed. Time is also set aside to comfort and reassure family members during this difficult time over endless cups of tea. Reassurance and calm expertise from our nurses allows families at home to spend precious time during the final days and hours of loved ones, allowing for a peaceful and dignified death.

£40 will pay for a specialist nurse to prepare and enable a patient to go home for end of life care or to visit them once home.

£25 will pay for a visit from a healthcare assistance to care for a patient and their family (through personal care and of course a cup of tea and chat).

£2,000 will pay for full end-of-life care at home for 1 patient and their family.
