Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Throughout 2022 I will be raising funds for Sue Ryder Hospice, Thorpe Hall, Peterborough, in memory of Kath Leakey and in recognition of the fantastic palliative care they provided to Kath, and the support given to her family and friends during Kath's stay in May 2019.

The challenge I’ve set myself is to complete a hike in every one of the 48 mainland counties in England.  Most of this activity will take place  over the six month sabbatical from work, that I will be taking from the 22nd April.  Some of this hiking will be with friends and family; some with communities such as the Love Her Wild women's adventure community; much of it will be solo hiking, with my Border Terrier Meg.

My oldest friend and partner in crime Sammie Kelley will of course be joining the fundraising and has committed to run 300 miles in the same six month period as well as accompanying me on some of the hikes.  As one of her legs now contains an assortment of medical grade stainless steel, (you probably didn't know she broke her leg last year, she barely mentions it...) this will also be quite a challenge for her.

My employer BGLi is kindly both allowing me the time out from work, and will also provide double match funding for the first £1,000 raised before the end of April. So for every £1 raised, BGLi Ltd will give a further £2.
