Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A dear friend, Chris Lake died last year of cancer. He was diagnosed and passed away within a month of the diagnosis. It was a very aggressive form of cancer that did not allow family and friends much time to come to terms with the inevitable outcome of losing a fantastic father, step-father, husband and friend.
The Iain Rennie Charity enabled the family to remain together at home, providing much needed care and equipment for Chris, 24 hours a day. This made it possible for him to stay in his own home, surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him. They also provided support for family members and the care meant that he did not lose his dignity. The most important element that Iain Rennie Hospice nurses and carers provided was time, for the family to be with Chris; not having to care for Chris themselves meant that they only had to concentrate on being with him.
