The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Ten years ago on 22 November 2013, a friend, Colin Smith lost his life to a rare tumour type cancer, Pseodomyxoma Peritonei.  Despite undergoing extensive surgery at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, Colin died less than five months after diagnosis, which he received on July 1st 2003, his 33rd birthday. A son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and dear friend, he has never been forgotten. Ten years on, it is time to once again remember Colin, raise awareness of this terrible disease and raise funds for the Christie Hospital who were there for him in his time of need. Colin's sister Salena will be undertaking various challenges, including the Great Manchester Run (10K) on 18 May 2014, with long-time friend Amanda McEwan.   Colin will be remembered for strength of character which shone through in his last difficult months. Always remembered, always loved and never forgotten. Thank you for your support x x
