I have always been interested in challenges and turning 50 last year made me look for something out of my comfort zone. Professionally; I left my job as an Optometrist with Specsavers to join Leightons Opticians & Hearing Care and Personally; inspired by my father in law, David, who has run 18 Comrades Marathon’s (88 km) and at 79 years young is still running half marathons (quicker than I will), I decided to try  run my first half marathon and the London Landmarks Half for the Macular Society is a perfect fit for me because David has Wet macular degeneration and I can see the impact of macular disease both professionally and personally and so raising money for them and the excellent work they do, to help everyone affected now and for research so that future generations may find a cure.
