Story
Last year I accomplished the London 3 Peaks Challenge, and this year it's time to push myself again by running the longest distance I've ever attempted (I like to think of myself as more ‘Linford Christie’ than ‘Mo Farah’…). The British 10k London Run takes place on Sunday 12th July 2015, and I will be one of approximately 19,000 people taking part.
Later this month it will be exactly 10 years since my unbelievably brave Dad was snatched away by cancer from me, my Mum and my brother, so it’s apt that I’ll be running 10k this year. Like me, he wasn’t much of a fitness fan so I like to think he would be rather proud as I take on a challenge which will push me harder than any of the feeble treadmill sessions that I’ve so far undertaken!
I read recently that 1 in 2 people will now be affected by cancer, which has risen from 1 in 4 when I was a child. Cancer Research is our best hope in finding a cure for this horrendous disease, so thank you in advance for believing in me and helping this amazing charity.
