Story

The story
begins when I received a call on 7th March, it was my dear friend
Patricia June Davies, or as I know her June. I snatched the phone up, as we had not spoken for a while but knew
we would be laughing out loud before long.

As it turned
out it was a call, I wished I had never had to take, because June told me the
devasting news that she had terminal cancer.

With anyone
else I would have been sobbing before the conversation was over but not with
June, after giving me the news she told me that she was not going to have
anyone being miserable or unhappy. Instead, she wanted to carry on as normal
and make the most of her time always having a laugh, and yes before we had
finished our conversation, we were laughing our socks off.

I totally
respect she remains so strong and true to herself, and as always, no matter
what life throws at her she will always make everyone laugh and have a good
time. June was admitted to St. Luke’s on the 9th February and cannot speak highly enough about St. Luke’s and when visiting her I
can see why, it is a wonderful unique place doing amazing work with brilliant
people.

For that reason,
June wanted to me do something challenging to raise money in her name for this wonderful
cause that touches so many lives.

I know
things are tough but if you can donate anything, no matter how small it will go
to do great work. As the saying goes every little helps.
