My Story: Running 70 Miles for My Brave Boy, Otis 👣
This June, I am taking on the 70 Miles in June challenge to raise vital funds for Bliss, the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature or sick.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart. My son, Otis, was born 13 weeks early, weighing just 2lb 4oz, which is about the weight of a standard 1kg bag of flour.
Spending ten weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) was the hardest thing my husband and I have ever been through. It was a rollercoaster of fear, hope, and resilience. But thanks to the phenomenal care of the neonatal teams and the support available to us, Otis is now a thriving, happy little boy. We feel incredibly lucky.
Why Your Donation Matters - our journey taught us just how common this reality is:
- 1 in 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist neonatal care.
- 1 in 10 babies worldwide is born prematurely—that's roughly 15 million babies every single year.
When a baby is born sick or early, their family's world is turned upside down. Bliss is there to provide trusted information, emotional support, and to campaign for the best possible care for these tiny fighters and their parents.
The Challenge 🏃♂️
To give back, I am covering 70 miles throughout the month of June. Every mile represents the resilience of premature babies like Otis, and every penny raised will help Bliss ensure that other families never have to face the NICU journey alone.
No donation is too small, and every single pound makes a massive difference. If you aren't able to donate, sharing my page with your friends and family, or even joining me on a lap, would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your support, love, and encouragement!
