I'm running a Race for Life 5k this year... 
For Denise. The last couple of years Denise was too poorly to run with us, last year I ran to support all with cancer, with Denise constantly in my thoughts as she was fighting so hard herself against the rotten illness. The strength & courage needed to fight cancer, the way she did, for so long, continuing to push on positively, see the funny side of everything, Facebook fighting with those pink boxing gloves! every hospital visit we shared (being told off for being too noisy!!) . She was truly, truly an inspiration.

Sadly Denise lost her battle last year. God took her hand and a little piece of many hearts. I miss my friend. I wish she were running with me, but I recon she'll be there, as she always was for so many of us, despite everything. I am dedicating this to her - I'm even going to try and actually 'run', scrap try, I AM going to run!
