Lakelands Day Care Hospice

We provide quality care to enhance quality of life of every patient

Charity Registration No. 1062120

Story

Our purpose to make good things better extends beyond our
responsibilities to our employees, customers, suppliers, and the environment. Our community is important to us, and when we can make a difference, we do.

Lakelands Hospice is an independent charity committed to delivering the best possible practice and development of specialist palliative care for people with cancer, heart failure and other life-limiting illnesses.

The hospice honours people's right to dignity and respect during all stages of their illness, by improving the quality of life of all hospice attendees and their families.

Lakelands nursing staff provide quality care completely free of charge, without NHS or government funding. This is why we want to help.

Since opening in 2001, Lakelands Hospice has helped in excess of 2000 families. As demand in the community for palliative care and respite day care continues to grow, Lakelands must grow too.

It costs in excess of £515,000 per annum to meet the needs of those among the community suffering from life-limiting illnesses such as Cancer, COPD, Heart Failure, Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease.

The hospice is entirely funded by voluntary donations and support from the local community. We would like to raise as much money for Lakelands as possible as we support the great work they do for the community.

We've asked: Amaray volunteers to meet the challenge of:

  • Climbing 3 mountains (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowden)
  • Hiking 24 miles
  • Travel 1,000 miles

...within 24 hours!

This ain't easy! It is an extremely physical an demanding activity so the team (of mixed ages and fitness levels) have committed themselves to a rigorous training plan in preparation.

We ask you: Are you able to support us and help raise as much money as possible? Small donations, large donations, whatever you can afford are welcome! Your generosity and kindness are greatly appreciated. All donations will ensure Lakelands continue to provide a centre for the relief of pain and stress and enhance the quality of their patients' lives.

Please keep in touch and follow us on our journey to support Lakelands.

Thank you,

Amaray.
