A few years ago I volunteered for Family Action as a mentor, spending Saturdays with a young guy with a tough home life in Camden. I saw the great work the charity do, giving children opportunities and support that they can't really get elsewhere. 

I saw a huge change in my mentee over the 3 years, especially with his self-confidence, ability to make friends and his behaviour at school.

Giving to Family Action would allow them to fund more mentors, to help more of the silent children you don't see in London, the ones on the verge of slipping into trouble. The idea is that this charity provides the support, chink of stability and rarest ounce of positivity into the lives of children who have been dealt a really rough hand in life, through absolutely no fault of their own.
