Story
Hi Guys!
So, I said I'd cycle 100km (62 miles) with Catherine Booty next Saturday (30 June 2012) and have now realised that that's really quite far! Let's face it, training has been minimal, and I'm likely to struggle; why is Bristol so hilly?!
To add to the fun, the ride is in the dark. I thought: I can't really see anyway, so with Catherine as my guide dog (in the nicest of possible ways), why not do a slightly crazy cycle, starting at 11pm when the world is sleeping (or at least drinking)? Just one more thing I will probably never do again!
But... it's not going to be fun. I will be cycling, unstably, on two wheels (I have enquired re stabilisers but apparently they'll slow me down?!) without being allowed my customary 10 minute rest breaks every half hour, wearing men's cycling gear more akin to a mankini-with-legs (thank you George) when all I will likely want to do is stop, lie on the floor and call anyone I know who is sober enough to pick me up.
Please help me through this by sponsoring me anything you can, it is going to a good cause, i promise! 'Above and Beyond' is a Bristol based charity which raises funds for Bristol's nine central hospitals. We all need good hospitals - for more information please see: http://www.aboveandbeyond.org.uk/about_above_and_beyond.aspx
Many thanks
Amaya xx
