Wing Walk · 7 May 2023

RSPCA Cornwall Branch is a rehoming centre that takes in stray, abandoned, abused or unwanted animals, regardless of the age, medical or behavioural needs. Our branch is self funding, all the money we raise goes directly to support animal welfare in Cornwall. It costs £925,000 per year to run.

Story

On May 8th I will be turning 21, so what better way to celebrate than stepping out my comfort zone for aid of a truly good cause.

I will partake in a 'wing walk'. This is where I will be flying a minimum of 100ft and a maximum of 700ft on waving-runs for the duration of approximately 10mins doing low dives and sharp turns between 80 and 130mph... Did I mention I would be strapped to the top of the aeroplane?!

I am doing this fundraiser for RSPCA Cornwall as I am an animal care assistant here and feel passionate about giving the absolute best care to the animals that come our way. Last year 602 animals were rehomed or released thanks to our fantastic team of dedicated animal lovers.

It costs over £500,000 each year to keep RSPCA Cornwall Venton Centres doors open to save hundreds of animals in dear need. Each and every animal we take on are provided with food, veterinary treatment and care costing us on average £1,100 each. We welcome all animals, abandoned, abused or unwanted. Unfortunetly a large percentage of animals are brought in via RSPCA Inspectors due to cruelty or neglect which requiers extensive treatment lengthening there time with us.

Sadly our Branch isn't funded by the the national RSPCA so is souley funded by the generosity of supporters.

Any donations would be greatly appriciated.
