This April I’ll be running both the Brighton and London Marathons. After years of failed attempts, I was lucky enough to receive a ballot space in the London Marathon, and thought, what better way to warm up for a marathon than completing...another marathon! Not my smartest idea.

I’m delighted to be running for an incredibly special charity - Mind - that has supported me immensely over the last few years. Any donation, however big or small, would be hugely appreciated. The money raised will help them to continue their tremendous work and empower people to understand their conditions and their choices.

My journey is still far too exposing to share but, what I can say, is that I’ve slowly been able to shake off the shame/embarrassment surrounding my mental health and talk more candidly about my struggles. I’m incredibly proud to be wearing the Mind Vest on both the 1st and 23rd of April, and fundraising for such a worthwhile cause.

Brighton will be my first full marathon, followed just three weeks later by London so I’ll be following the mantra ‘finish lines not finish times’ to steadily get me through, and hoping to avoid as many blisters as possible along the way...
