Story
This February, I will be skipping for 15 minutes a days to raise money for the Stroke Association because stroke survivors need our support.During my challenge I will spend 7 hours skipping, during which time 84 strokes will cause devastation to families across the UK. Last summer my family was one of those after my mum collapsed due to a haemorrhagic stroke, kicking us into three weeks of uncertainty and taking it moment by moment as we knew that although she was lucky to survive the initial stroke, there was still a chance she might not pull through. Unfortunately she didn't, having a second stroke two weeks after the first and we lost her in August 2022. My mum was a brilliant, wickedly funny and incredibly kind and generous woman who was also always trying to find more fun ways to get us active, so I think she'd approve of the skipping! I want to try and help the people who are recovering from stroke and their families to rebuild their lives, and help people get treatment so nobody has to go through the same thing I did.
Lots of love and go check your blood pressure
