Story
Andy’s Man Club started in 2016, following the tragic death of Andy Roberts - who took his own life at the age of 23. Andy’s mother Elaine and brother-in-law Luke wanted to make sure that men like Andy could have somewhere to go and talk through whatever they had going on. 7 years later, over 2500 men meet every week at one of the 120 clubs around the UK.
Andy’s Man Club came to Bristol in 2021. I was there on the opening night, and within weeks found myself helping to facilitate the weekly groups. Having somewhere I can go and get stuff off my chest without shame or judgement is so important. It’s been a privilege to sit and listen to men open up about their lives - not just their troubles, but their hopes and dreams too.
Our clubs are completely free to attend, with free drinks and biscuits too. So having helped myself to a free brew every week for the last two years, it’s time to give something back.
The Great Weston Ride is a 57-mile ride from Bristol to Weston Super Mare. It’s a great event, but it’s also really hard work! Just like every Monday night, I know I’ll have a great bunch of guys from AMC by my side to keep me going.
Your donations will help ensure more men around the UK will have access to our clubs, finding support and friendship at a time when they might need it most.
Thank you so much for your generosity.
