SAVE THE DATE THURSDAY 12TH MARCH !

Amelia has signed up for Strictly for Change Ballroom and Latin Dance Competition

I must admit, it didn’t take me long to decide that I would love to take part. I imagined myself on the dance floor with Anton Du Beke and the decision was made. I plucked up the courage to sign up for 'Strictly for Change' where not only will I learn a new dance (the girl loves to dance !!), it will also help with my fitness. Who knows? it might encourage me to take up dancing as a hobby. The aim is to take home the glitter ball trophy and if you are wondering whether I am competitive.....I am NOW !

Just to give you a brief introduction about me I am a mother of three boys who are now young men.  I work for  an Investment company in London as a Personal Assistant supporting the Chief Technology Officer and Leadership Team and love what I do.  I am an advocate for 'me time' and what comes under that banner is trying new things, pushing myself out of my comfort zone and of course a nice glass (or two) of red wine and socialising with my friends when I can.

In 2019 I smashed my swimming lessons and I am trying my best to maintain a good level of fitness by swimming regularly.

Strictly for Change is such a great opportunity and will be a fantastic event organised by the Change Foundation which helps disadvantaged young people through sport and dance. This is my first challenge for 2020 and I would very much appreciate your support in achieving my £4000 target. £4000 will mean the Change Foundation can continue to deliver targeted programmes for the most vulnerable, and they do this by using coach mentors with lived experience.

I am super excited and nervous as competing in front of two hundred people is not something I ever imagined. Had you said to me this time last year I would be learning a Ballroom or Latin dance I would of laughed...."yeah right"

I don't know what's more daunting, performing in front of an audience or being judged ? Yes, I will be judged by a celebrity panel on my performance ( how dare they) and hear comments like "Amelia you are FAB U LOUS !" ( that's what I want to hear) or to be told "Amelia, shoulders down or what happened to your frame...!! I am determined to nail this and ready for the challenge.
