Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

The Great North Air Ambulance Service keeps families together by saving lives. We provide critical care to the people of the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

Story

My brother Andrew, a tree surgeon, had to be rescued by the Air Ambulance in September.  He was hanging from a tree with a badly broken leg and bleeding to death.  He managed to clamber out of the tree and contact the Air Ambulance via his iphone whilst trying not to panic himself into shock.  He suffered breaks to his tibia and fibula and has undergone and is undergoing further operations to fix his leg.

We decided to run the Great North Run and raise funds as a thank you to the Air Ambulance for doing what they do best.
