We help families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them

Story

Hello,

I'm Millie, in July I was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and I was told that to get Infant ALL is quite rare. I was only 9 months old when I was diagnosed.

I would like to raise money for CLIC Sargent.  This amazing charity runs a Haven House at Southampton hospital, where I am being treated.  This means that both Mummy and Daddy can stay at the hospital to be near me, (as only one of them can stay on the ward overnight with me) it also means that they don't have to drive an hour each way daily to get to and from the hospital.  It gives them a chance to have a proper cooked meal and have a few hours 'off' together away from the ward when I have gone to bed.  I have been there too, if I am allowed off the ward for a few hours Mummy and Daddy can take me back there and let me play in a clean home away from home, and we can relax as a family for a few hours.  Last time I went there Mummy did us a carpet picnic.

CLIC Sargent also has its own social workers that work within the hospital to offer support to families. Even if it's just a chat. They helped Mummy negotiate what benefits I am entitled to. They also helped her to fill in the long complex forms.

They also have other ways they support families, for more information visit http://www.clicsargent.org.uk

The first fundraising event is being done by my God Mummy Clare. She is going to do a sky dive on the 5th September to raise funds for CLIC Sargent.  This sky dive is self funded by Clare so EVERY penny will be going to this amazing charity.

The next fundraising event is being done by Uncle Rob.  He is participating in the PUMA Hell Runner. The Hell Runner is 10-12miles of challenging off-road running, tough twisting trails, including the framed hill of hell and the bog off doom! For video of whats in store for him, go to http://www.hellrunner.co.uk/index.htm. Event taking place on 27th Nov.

Good luck Uncle Rob.
