Story
When Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915, the charity's mission was to help soldiers blinded during the First World War. Today the charity offers lifelong support to Armed Forces and National Service veterans.
As a charity we help blind and vision impaired ex-service personnel regain their independence and discover life after sight loss. Below are some of the services that the charity supports to veterans.
Introduction weeks introduce veterans to independent living,
Rehabilitation Officers help veterans develop new skills,
Care is offered at both the Brighton and Llandudno centres
Many activities are offered at the centres from IT training to archery.
Veterans can join many clubs, from a radio club to a writers forum.
Sight loss does not have to mean giving up sport.
