Life is like a wheel

 

Who doesn’t agree with that? While you are reading this, we know that in a way we are actually living in a comfortable environment. No matter how many times we say life isn’t fair or life is hard, we know our situation is not the worst. We have so many things to be grateful for, but some of us are not that fortunate.

 

We happen not to be in their shoes- yeah that’s life.

 

Talking about Syria, it’s all over the news now. In my view I believe that this is one of the crises that deserves strong attention. According to the UN, this is the worst refugee crisis since the 1994 Rwandan genocide! Therefore I decided to join University of Sheffield Islamic Circle fund raising event to help the Syirian people, easing the suffering for some of them.

 

To do so, on 9 of November 2013 we will climb up the Snowdon mountain in Wales, United Kingdom and make it to the top. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, at an altitude of 1,085 metres above sea level making it one of the highest points in the British Isles. I’m so looking forward to do this since I am a plant biologist and being in nature is like my playground :-). It’s not going to be easy with rocky terrains and cold weather but hey it’s for a noble cause!

 

Interestingly, I will also share my hiking experience and the awesome plants that I might encounter there on my Facebook page (Botany Kingdom- very much welcomed to like!).
