Lebanon Deployment · 18 January 2021 ·

Salam Charity was founded in 2011 with the aim to help fight poverty and transform lives. Every night over 800 million people go hungry and nearly 6 million children die each year from preventable diseases. Salam Charity aims to tackle this by providing lifesaving meals, clean water, sanitation, clothing and education. This will allow everyone to realise their birthright of living a happy life by developing their full potential. Salam Charity works in many countries around the world with a particular emphasis on the Rohingya emergency crisis. Salam Charity has a five year strategic plan which will focus on bringing a positive and lasting change in the lives of those affected by poverty. Our aim is to empower people for them to be in charge of their own destinies. We endeavour to support households, local communities and national institutions to develop longer term collective approaches to reinforce their capacities to better respond to, mitigate and prevent humanitarian emergencies and hunger crises. Supported by global celebrities, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and social media influencers, We have one important mission: to save and change lives for the better. We will do what it takes to bring humanity closer to a world free from hunger and poverty.

Story

70% of the families in Lebanon’s refugee camps (some of the largest in the world) live below the poverty line. Half of the entire country is food insecure.

This Ramadan, Salam Charity will be distributing food parcels to those in need, and I am honoured to be joining them from the 13th April.

We will be visiting Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian communities, distributing aid and hearing their experiences first-hand, so that we can better provide for them in the future.

£2,500 of your donations were distributed throughout Winter, providing Health Kits, Winter Kits and Food Parcels.

The remaining funds will go towards providing nourishing, vitamin-rich food parcels to families, in addition to medical treatment for families in need.

As part of this fundraising, I am running 100km, and updates can be seen below.

Please donate anything you can.. not a penny will go wasted or unappreciated. Thank you.

  • £60 provides lifesaving food for one family
  • £120 provides lifesaving food to children affected by conflict
  • £300 provides an entire community with emergency food

Any additional funds raised will continue to be distributed throughout Ramadan in the form of food parcels to Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese communities.
