We are a brother and sister – an architect and a trainee solicitor (SQE Route), joining forces to take on the Peru: Machu Picchu Challenge in support of Islamic Relief.

Why? Because right now, 785 million people around the world still do not have access to something as basic as clean water. That’s one in ten people facing daily struggles for a need we so often take for granted.

As an architect, Hammad designs spaces that bring people safety, dignity and shelter. As a future solicitor, Ammara advocates for justice and fairness. However, beyond our professions, we are also creatives and community leads: Hammad is a calligraphy artist (@ink.sketcher), and Ammara is a bridal henna artist (@ammaras.henna). Through our work, we are committed to building and uplifting our communities.

However, we both believe that the most essential right is access to clean water, because without it, there can be no health, no opportunity, no future.

Now, we’re stepping away from our everyday roles and taking on a physical and spiritual journey across the Andes Mountains, aiming to raise £5,000 to bring hope to communities facing water scarcity.

Water is more than just hydration:

- It saves lives.

- It empowers women and children.

- It rebuilds communities.

Supporting clean, safe water initiatives is a powerful form of ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah)—one that can benefit lives for generations to come. For those reading this, please consider donating, even a small amount. As the Prophet ﷺ said:

“The best charity is giving water to drink.”

— [Ahmad, 23408]

Islamic Relief has been able to provide clean water and infrastructure to over 844,000 people across 19 countries through the WASH projects to enable clean water for life. This particular challenge is for the Sudan Emergency Appeal.

🌍 Every drop counts. Every donation matters.

Please support our challenge and help us reach our goal. Your generosity could change lives.

Thank you for being part of this mission.

With love and prayers,

Hammad Haider and Ammara Haider
