To be honest with you I really hate running. But do you know what I hate more? Bullying, violence, repression, and the mistreatment of marginalised groups. 

Democracy has been in decline for over 10 years now, and the wave of divisive sectarianism that is sweeping the globe has strengthened the hands of strongmen, autocrats, and juntas in every continent. Like many others, I felt impotent; I wanted to do something but wasn't sure how to make a difference. When Putin's invaded Ukraine I couldn't sit by any more. I got off the couch, bought some trainers, and have been starting to put in the hard miles for Amnesty - the Nobel peace prize-winning international organisation that faithfully documents atrocities, supports the oppressed, and holds autocrats to account.
